Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

SB 317 -- MISSOURI CONSOLIDATED HEALTH CARE PLAN

CO-SPONSORS: Stoll, Bray (Selby)

COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on
Health Care Policy by a vote of 14 to 0.

This bill requires the Board of Trustees of the Missouri
Consolidated Health Care Plan to study the feasibility of
including within the plan individuals who are employees of
eligible agencies or who are retirees of school districts which
have not elected to join the plan. The bill requires the board
to report its findings to the General Assembly on or before
December 15, 2003.

FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS: Supporters say that no feasibility study has been
conducted in 10 years. By placing a completion date in statute,
the bill requires a study to be completed and the findings
submitted to lawmakers.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Stoll.

OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
